WEEK 12
Winner: To Be Determined Prize: To Be Determined
Abita Wrought Iron IPA
India Pale Ale (IPA) · 6.9 ABV · Brewed by Abita Brewing Company
India pale ale is forged with the intensity of Apollo, Equinox and Mosaic Hops. Brewed with pale ale malt for a golden color as bright as iron from a fiery forge
Bell's Smitten Golden Rye Ale
American Pale Ale · 6.0 ABV · Brewed by Bell's Brewery
Drawn from one of our oldest recipes, Smitten Ale began as part of a series of rye beers at our Eccentric Café. The combination of sharp citrus & resinous flavors from the hops with the earthy, rustic overtones of the rye malt contribution yield an interesting take on the American Pale Ale.
Brooklyn Winter Ale
Scottish Ale · 6.1 ABV · Brewed by Brooklyn Brewery
When the days grow short and the beach recedes into our dreams, we need a very nice beer to get us through the long winter. Based on the satisfying malty ales of blustery Scotland, Brooklyn Winter Ale will have you looking on the bright side of things. Rich Scottish malts bring deep bready flavors to a beer with a full copper color, a round, smooth palate, and brisk hopping that pulls the sweet malts into balance. See – things are looking up already!
Captain Lawrence IPA
American Pale Ale · 6.5 ABV · Brewed by Captain Lawrence Brewing Company
Hops, hops & more hops. This beer is brewed using only the finest US grown hops from our good friends out West. With a robust hop aroma from the dry hopping process this beer delivers on its promise to provide a full sensory assault on your taste buds.
Heavy Seas Gold Ale
Golden Ale/Blond Ale · 4.5 ABV · Brewed by Clipper City Brewing Company
Deep gold in color with floral and spicy hop aromas. Brewed with pale, carmel, and Munich malts balanced with Cascade, Centennial and Hersbrucker hops. Well rounded, fruity and complex. Pairs well with salads, mild cheeses and pulled pork BBQ.
Week 12-->
Southern Tier 2X Double Milk Stout
Sweet Stout · 7.5 ABV · Brewed by Southern Tier Brewing Company
Milk stout, also called ‘cream’ or ‘sweet’ stout, is a stout containing lactose, a sugar derived from milk. Because lactose is unfermentable by beer yeast, it adds sweetness and body to finished beer. Milk stouts have been claimed to be nutritious, and were marketed as such in the early 1900s with claims that would make the FDA wince. One ad read, “Ideal for nursing mothers, for the healthy, for the invalid, and for the worker.” Surely!
Of course, we wouldn’t stop at a traditional milk stout. Ours is double, an addition to our 2X line, and at 7.5% ABV is every bit as delicious as it sounds. To your health!
